Washington Park is the proud home of Washington Youth Baseball (WYB) and the PONY League World Series, played annually in August!
The park is owned and managed by the City of Washington in central Washington County just minutes from I70, I79, PA40 and PA19.
WYB manages and maintains eight baseball fields for league play, five concession stands, multiple batting cages, and several maintenance buildings throughout Washington Park. For practice purposes, WYB utilizes other baseball fields located within the local communities.
All our fields have dugout, scoreboards, and nearby concession stands. Shetland and Pinto leagues share the same two fields. The Mustang and Bronco leagues have two fields each. Our Colt and Palomino teams share a game field that has lights for evening play.
Our signature field, Lew Hays Field (PONY Field), has been the home of the PONY League World Series for 50 years. The field has lights, seating capacity of 1600, grass infield, warning track, multi-level press box, restrooms, equipment rooms, two concession stands and other amenities not commonly found at the youth baseball level. This ball field, rich in tradition and site of historic games, continues to provide experiences and special memories for our WYB players along with the national and international teams that compete in the PONY World Series annually.
Washington Park is also the home of the Vernon C. Neal Sportsplex which offers youth and adult recreational programs to the communities within Western PA and the Tri-State Area. The complex offers indoor soccer, inline hockey, indoor lacrosse, flag football, basketball, volleyball, and other recreational opportunities.
WYB uses this facility each spring to host our player skill assessment.
